Mathematician and founder of the inspirational Super 30 program, Anand Kumar, has set his sights on a new initiative: launching an online educational platform to empower underprivileged students in India.
Anand Kumar made the announcement at the 2024 Kellogg India Business Conference, emphasizing the importance of technology in reaching a wider audience. “The world is brimming with talented individuals obscured by poverty,†he said. This online education platform aims to bridge that gap, bringing high-quality education directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most.
This project builds upon the goals of Super 30, the well-known initiative that offers free coaching and mentoring to poor students seeking to secure admission to the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). By accessing a geographically dispersed student population, the online education platform hopes to increase the impact of Super 30.
Anand Kumar additionally addressed the significant lessons that were discovered during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasising how social media may be used to communicate with students in the event of a lockdown. This background, in his opinion, puts him in a good position to use technology for outreach in education through the online education platform.
This exciting development promises to democratise access to knowledge for countless deserving students in India. We eagerly await further details about the online education platform to be launched and its potential to transform educational equity in the country.
