The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) Pravartak Technologies Foundation has announced a collaborative effort with VyVoxel, an international expert in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, to offer a comprehensive online course in AR and VR programming.
This program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the rapidly growing field of AR and VR. The 60-hour course curriculum will cover fundamental concepts such as 3D modelling, marker-based and markerless AR, VR programming and interaction, and the vast array of applications across various industries, including healthcare, logistics, retail, and architecture.
“AR and VR are on the cusp of a major breakthrough, with hardware, software, and technology adoption reaching a critical mass,†said Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer of the Digital Skills Academy at IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies. “There is a critical need to develop a talent pool to meet the industry's demands in the coming years. This is an exciting field with exponential growth potential, and we are thrilled to partner with VyVoxel to bring this opportunity to students.â€
This collaboration between IIT Madras Pravartak and VyVoxel signifies a significant step forward in nurturing talent for the flourishing AR and VR sectors. By imparting practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge, the course empowers students to make their mark in this dynamic and ever-evolving field.
The deadline to apply for the first batch of the AR/VR Programming Course is March 31, 2024.
