About
St. Mira’s College is an integral part of the Mira Movement in Education; it was founded in 1962 by the visionary philosopher-saint Sadhu T.L.Vaswani as the first college set up exclusively for women in Pune.
Saint Mira, who represents Bhakti, Indian ideals, the strength of conviction, and resistance to injustice, is our patron saint. The acclaimed Dada J.P. Vaswani is our spiritual guide, mentor, and the inspiration behind all of the college's endeavours. The college's motto, "Kindle the Light," expresses our dedication to instilling in our students a culture of simplicity, service, piety, and prayer. The college's mission is to "empower and equip women students to successfully handle the difficulties of a competitive work life and cultivate the Art of True Living" through an integrated education of the Head, Hand, and Heart. The governing committee of the college is graced by distinguished persons who excel in the classroom and have a strong commitment to social justice and the welfare of students.
St. Mira's College sets itself out as a distinctive and forward-thinking institution of higher learning. Our unique identity is rooted in the inclusive education we provide to female students of all backgrounds, abilities, and special needs, as well as those who are first-generation students and those who come to us from other regions of the country and beyond. We have steadily expanded over the course of our 55 years of academic service from a small college to a strong institution that has carved out a place for itself on the academic map of the nation. Among our many firsts are that we were the first college affiliated with the University of Pune to volunteer for NAAC and the first college in Pune to receive a five-star rating.

Placements
The Placement Cell is active in St. Mira's College. The cell acts as a liaison between the business community and students. Our institution's primary goal is to help students realise their aspirations for fulfilling jobs in a competitive and rapidly evolving field.
Students can investigate the working world and potential new career paths thanks to the placement cell. Through counselling, it also assists students in developing their strengths in terms of their interests, aptitudes, and abilities so that they can more effectively choose their vocation.
The Placement Cell's emphasis is also on the students' professional development by teaching them employability skills like resume writing, group discussions, and interview techniques, which in turn aids them in landing the desired job and/or applying to esteemed postgraduate and professional institutions.
Through visits to novel businesses and uncharted industries, the Placement Cell takes the initiative to investigate new employment options for graduates and postgraduates. Every year, campus recruitment is carefully planned.
