SRM Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as SRM University, is a private deemed to be a university that offers various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) & Doctoral courses across all its campuses. At present, SRM University has four major campuses and the courses are offered in diverse streams such as Engineering, Architecture, Health Sciences and Management. Usually, the registration process commences in the month of September every year and admission is done on the basis of different entrance tests conducted by the university. Students can apply for any of the university campuses located at Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) & Sikkim.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), formerly known as SRM University, is one of the top-ranking universities in India with over 20,000 students and more than 2600 faculty across all the campus. Major recruiters included Amazon, PayPal, Google, Morgan Stanley, VM Ware, Accolite, TCS, Wipro, Wells Fargo & many more. CS/IT students received an average salary of INR 9.5 LPA. The highest salary package received was INR 1 CPA.

SRM University Scholarships:-
The institution provides scholarships to students on merit as well as need basis. Scholarships names are given below:
- Merit Scholarship: Fee waiver of 50% for students with above 95% in CBSE or in State Board examinations.
- Founder's Scholarship: Full waiver on books, tuition, hostels & mess, plus a stipend of Rs.1, 000 per month to top state, JEE, SRMEEE & AIEEE rankers, sportspersons and socio-economic disdained.
- Merit-cum-means Scholarship: 25% to 100% tuition fee waiver is provided to students who are economically challenged based on their performance in the qualifying examination.
- Scholarships for special merits: Scholarship with tuition fee waivered up to 100% is offered to some of the students owning exemplary skills in literary debating, fine arts, and others.

A total of 1,050 companies visited the campus and more than 10,000 students were placed during SRM Institute of Science and Technology placements 2022. Further, the SRM University highest package offered in 2022 stood at INR 100 LPA. In addition, SRM University average package offered to the students of CS and IT departments stood at INR 9.5 LPA.

Placement Review: Students in the 7th semester and above are eligible for campus placements. The major companies that visit our college campus during placements are GE Digital, IBM, Google, TATA, Indian Oil, ITC Limited and Reliance. The highest package offered is 45 lakhs per annum and the lowest average package offered is 4.07 lakhs per annum. The academic excellence of SRM Engineering College is reflected in the exemplary placements of students in the business and engineering fields. Approximately 90-93% of all internship students are placed on campus during their internship.
