About
Institute of Hotel Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Panipat is Haryana's first catering college, established in 1973, offering a two-year diploma course in hotel management and three one-year diploma courses in food production, FandB service, hotel reception and reservation. Under Haryana Tourism Department.
In 1988, the Haryana Tourism Department converted the two-year diploma course into a three-year diploma course and in 1994 , the three-year diploma course was merged with the Board of Technical Education, Panchkula, Haryana.
Since March 2012, the Institute has been functioning as an independent body registered under the Haryana Registration and Societies Regulation Act, with Additional Chief Secretary Tourism, Haryana as its Chairman.
Institute of Hotel Management Panipat is now affiliated with National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India) which is the premier hospitality and catering training body in India. As a result, 60 students started the training program in the session 2013-14
