About VITEEE:

The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is designed for undergraduate engineering program admissions within the VIT group of Institutions. Tentatively scheduled between April 19 and 30, 2024, VITEEE will take place at designated centres across India and abroad (with varying test days for different cities). The exam's duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes, and candidates are allowed a single attempt. All questions are Multiple Choice Questions, with one mark awarded for a correct answer and zero for an incorrect one. The exam comprises a total of 125 questions, categorized into Maths/Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions), and English (5 questions). The question paper is in English, and the application and counselling fees are non-refundable. For a detailed syllabus, refer to www.viteee.vit.ac.in. The merit list preparation for the VITEEE Computer-Based Examination utilizes the Equi-percentile method.

Eligibility Criteria VITEEE 2024

    Nationality:
  • Applicants should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO / OCI.
  • NRI applicants can apply directly under the 'NRI Category' using the NRI application form.
  • Foreign applicants studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form (https://vit.ac.in/admissions/international/overview).
    Age Limit:
  • Applicants born on or after July 1, 2002, are eligible to apply for engineering admission in 2024.
  • The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
    Qualifying Examination:
  • Eligible examinations include the final examination of the 10+2 system conducted by the State Board, CBSE, ISCE, Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination, High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma, GCE examination at the Advanced (A) level, and more.
  • Regular National Institute of Open Schooling(NIOS) board candidates are also eligible.
  • For Indian nationals attending VITEEE 2024 is mandatory for B.Tech. admission.
  • In case VITEEE 2024 gets cancelled, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE-24 or a valid SAT.
    Eligibility Criteria:
  • Applicants applying for Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2024 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM/PCB/PCMB in the qualifying examination.
  • For specific categories (SC/ST, J&K and Northeastern states), the minimum aggregate is 50%.
  • Applicants attempting MPCEA or BPCEA in VITEEE 2024 have specific eligibility for B.Tech programs in certain disciplines.
    Requirement of Qualifying Examination:
  • Specific B.Tech programs have additional qualifying examination requirements, such as B.Tech. Biotechnology, B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics), B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering (Biomedical Engineering), B.Tech. Bioengineering, and B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Health Informatics).

Guidelines for Filling Up the Application Form:

    Step 1: Visit the Official Website
  • The B.Tech Admission Application Form is available online at https://viteee.vit.ac.in/
  • The cost of the Application Form is Rs. 1,350/- (Non-Refundable).
    Step 2: New User Registration
  • Provide a valid e-mail address and active mobile number for registration.
    Step 3: Sign-in for Registered Users
  • Fill in the relevant fields carefully to generate an Application Number.
  • Refer to this application number in all future correspondence.
    Step 4: Filling Online Application Form
  • Pay the application cost of Rs. 1,350 through a Net Banking Account, Credit/Debit Card, or Paytm.
  • For test centres abroad: Equivalent to USD 90 in INR.
  • Note: The application cost is non-refundable.
    Step 5: Photo and Signature Upload
  • Ensure the photograph is against a light background, full frontal view, both ears visible, and open eyes with a neutral expression.
  • Signature should be in a rectangular box, scanned, and cropped as specified.
  • Upload the photograph and signature in the required format and size.
    Step 6: Download Filled-in Application Form
  • Download and save the filled-in application form for reference and further correspondence.
  • Applicants do not need to send a hard copy of the filled-in application form to VIT.

Selection and Counselling Process for VITEEE 2024

Selection and Counselling Process:

  • Selection is based on the rank secured in the CBT (Computer Based Test) VITEEE 2024.
  • Selected candidates can participate in online counselling, where they can specify preferences for campus, program, and fee category.
  • Allotment is determined by rank, preferences, and availability during the online counselling process.

Eligibility for Counselling:

  • Candidates with a rank up to 1 Lakh are eligible for counselling at all four campuses: VIT - Vellore, VIT - Chennai, VIT - AP, and VIT - Bhopal.
  • Rank holders above 1 Lakh are eligible for counselling at VIT - AP and VIT - Bhopal campuses.

Verification and Document Submission:

  • VIT will verify candidates' eligibility after completing the tuition fee payment by the stipulated date.
  • Candidates must submit required documents on the day of reporting to the campus or as requested by the Office of Admissions.

Provisional Admission Conditions:

  • Provisional Admission offered during counselling will be valid ONLY if the eligibility criteria are fulfilled.

Online Counselling Process for VITEEE 2024:

  • The counselling process is unified for the VIT group of Institutions and will be conducted online in five phases.
  • The counselling portal will provide information on rank, schedule, and choice entry.
  • A non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 5,900/- is mandatory for participation in the counselling process.
  • If applicants miss their phase of counselling, they can participate in the next phase, with choices limited to the available options in that phase.
  • During counselling, applicants can choose their preferred campus, program, and fee category. Allotment is based on VITEEE Rank.
  • Upon payment of the required fee, a provisional admission letter will be available in the portal.Once allotted a campus, program, and fee category, changes cannot be made.
