About NEET PG 2024
The National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) (NEET (PG)) is a qualifying and ranking examination in India designed for students aspiring to pursue various postgraduate medical programs such as Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Diplomate of National Board (DNB), and Doctorate of National Board (a direct 6-year course in specialized fields like Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery), along with diploma courses. These programs are offered in both government and private medical colleges across the country. NEET (PG) serves as the replacement for the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE). The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is responsible for conducting the examination, while the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) manages the counselling and seat allotment process.
