COMEDK, the "Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka," operates as an autonomous institution composed of esteemed academicians and experienced administrative officers deeply entrenched in the educational ecosystem. Entrusted with the responsibility by KPCF (Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation – Medical & Dental) and KUPECA (Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association), this autonomous body is dedicated to organizing testing procedures that ascertain the merit of aspiring students in a manner that is effective, fair, transparent, and non-exploitative. Over the years, COMEDK has played a pivotal role in overseeing the admission processes for 16 Medical, 24 Dental, and approximately 190 Engineering Colleges. Since its establishment in 2004-05, COMEDK has consistently conducted annual entrance exams for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in its member institutions. Moreover, it has conducted a single-window centralized counselling process for the past 15 years. The commendable efforts of COMEDK have received appreciation from Government-appointed Admission Overseeing Committees, and the Hon’ble Supreme Court has recognized it as a model examination.
